On Oct. 29, the Dapeng New District Investment Promotion Conference was officially opened in Dapeng, which attracted over 100 well-known enterprises from home and abroad and saw around 20 cooperation agreements signed on site with investments of more than 40 billion yuan (US$6.25 billion).
Those enterprises included Merlin Entertainments Group,Fosun Group, Vanke Group, Skyworth Group, China Resources, Shanghai Cell Therapy Group Co. Ltd. and Miraclean.
The conference was attended by Li Ruilin, director and Party chief of the Water Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, and Liu Guangyang, secretary of the Dapeng New District CPC Working Committee.
At the conference, the newest plan for the development of Dapeng’s cultural and tourist industries was released, which for the first time stipulated that by 2025 a world-class coastal ecotourist resort in Dapeng will take shape, and by 2030 Dapeng will become a world-leading area in terms of coastal ecotourism development as well as a renowned destination for coastal ecotourism. The plan also pointed out that by 2035, the development of coastal ecotourism in Dapeng should reach an international leading level with the total number of tourist arrivals reaching 25 million per year.
Lyu Wangwang, deputy head of the Finance and Development Bureau of Dapeng New District introduced Dapeng’s overall planning and transport plan. According to Lyu, Dapeng is focusing on the construction of Kuichong integrated service center town, Dapeng tourism services new town, and a tourism services new town. Construction of Baguang Science Innovation Bay, Longqi Marine Economy Bay, and Dapeng Coastal Cultural Tourism Bay is also being advanced.
Lyu added that by 2025, Dapeng will form a three-dimensional transportation system featuring land, sea, air and rail networks that is accessible, intensive and efficient, sustainable and of high quality.
Another highlight at the conference was the signing of the national water (sea) leisure sports center project. The Water Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China signed agreements with the Dapeng New District Management Committee, Galaxy Group and XBLUEME Sports respectively to jointly build a national water (sea) leisure sports center on the Dongshan Pearl Island in Dapeng.
According to the agreements, after being put into use, the leisure sports center will become a venue to hold major sports events like World Cups, World Championships, National Games and National Championships, etc.
