Dapeng New District is renowned as a “tourism area” due to its abundant tourism resources. It holds the distinction of being the only national tourism reform and innovation pilot zone in Guangdong Province. Within this new district, there are two “national key cultural relics protection units,” the Dapeng Fortress and the former site of the Dongjiang Column Headquarters. Additionally, it boasts a national 3A-rated attraction called Rose Coast, and a provincial-level demonstration zone for the integrated development of the cultural and tourism industries known as the Dapeng Fortress Cultural Tourism Zone. Moreover, the new district is home to two municipal-level cultural industry parks, Yixiang iD Town and the Dapeng International Wedding Expo Park. Notably, Dapeng New District has successfully attracted several world-class coastal culture and tourism projects, including Legoland, China Resources Kaiyun Outlet Town, China Cup International Regatta, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Dragon Boat Race. With these remarkable developments, the district is well on its way to becoming a world-class coastal eco-tourism resort area.
